I am concluding my first two year term with SAENA and have served as the Vice President for the last year. I want to continue to serve with SAENA because I am proud of the work and leadership SAENA has with our street-based issues. Additionally, with new transit, pedestrian, and bicycle infrastructure coming to the area, I would like to help our neighborhood stakeholders shape and execute their vision for safety and accessibility. Neighborhood organizations can and should uplift our less heard and underinvested neighbors first.

I hope to help our neighbors see the attention and investment they need. This experience will deepen my understanding of how the public can engage and benefit from their local governments’ funding and representation.

I have lived in the neighborhood for more than 5 years now and I feel it is time for me to give back to the community that has made me feel so much at home during this time.

I would like to continue serving on the board because I enjoy problem-solving and exploring possibilities alongside the dedicated members of our board. I have so far found the time on the board rewarding, and I would like to continue my involvement.

I hope to gain a stronger sense of community through my endeavors on the board. I also hope to learn procedural skills that could be transferred to other opportunities down the road.
