Expect delays and temporary closures of Broadway Street Northeast between Marshall Street Northeast (County Road 23) and Lincoln Street in Minneapolis starting October 14th for approximately one week (weather permitting). Due to the nature of this work and the weather, the exact start and finish dates may vary.
The majority of the work will be completed alongside traffic. This means people can continue to use the road. You should expect delays and traffic configuration changes when traveling through the area. Flaggers may also be on site to help guide people driving on Broadway Street Northeast.
This work is done in stages. First, we ground away, or mill, the existing pavement. Then, we pave, or overlay, a new layer of pavement. Finally, we add new striping and pavement markings.
Stay Safe During Construction
For your safety and the safety of our crews, we ask that you obey all posted speed limits and slow down where crews are working.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue project work in this area.
2019 Corridor Improvements
As crews repave the area, they will also make the following changes to the roadway:
-Convert the 4-lane roadway between 4th and Jackson streets and between Tyler and Lincoln streets to a 3-lane roadway (one lane in each direction with shared center turn lane)
-Install a test closure median at Tyler Street to prohibit left turns
-Convert the road to one lane in each direction at the railroad bridge near Buchanan Street

Anticipated 2020 improvements
Crews are anticipated to return in 2020 to complete the following:
-Repaving between Broadway Street between Lincoln Street and Stinson Boulevard Northeast (County Road 27)
-Making intersection modifications at Johnson Street to improve sight distance for left-turning vehicles
