LOCAL FARMERS, CHEFS, AND ARTISTS TEAM UP FOR HARVEST GALA
Thursday, October 16, 6pm to 10pm, at the Solar Arts Building. Donations for silent auction now being accepted
[NE MINNEAPOLIS. September 26, 2014] In a celebration of the strength and bounty of the local food movement, the
Northeast Minneapolis Farmers Market is excited to announce the third annual Harvest Gala. Proceeds from the event will
be used to fund the activities and mission of the Northeast Minneapolis Farmers Market.
The Solar Arts Building, located at 711 – 15th Avenue NE, is generously donating their beautiful third-floor event space for this year’s Gala, to be held on Thursday, October 16, from 6 pm until 10 pm.
The NEFM Harvest Gala features an innovative format that pairs farmers market vendors and local chefs. Chefs and farmers team up to create tasty appetizers using ingredients sourced from the Northeast Farmers Market. This year, expect eats by Chowgirls Killer Catering, Sen Yai Sen Lek, the Modern Café, The Mill Northeast, Red Stag Supperclub and Cranky’s Ice Cream, just to name a few. At the bar, try beers from the Nordeast Brewers Alliance, fine wines, and a specialty cocktail crafted with 2 Gingers Irish whiskey and fresh seasonal juices.
Live entertainment will be provided by Adam Frank on steel drum, Bluegrass music by Cedar and Stone, and belly dancing by Giza Sangria. A silent auction will feature arts, crafts, certificates and services donated by local artisans, restaurants, businesses and individuals. We’re off to a great start with donations from Brasa, Alma, Mendhe Moon bodyart, Eastside Food Co-op, Kowalski’s, Lotus Life, Nancy Hovanes Basketry, Sarah Knoss Fine Art, Language Central, Chowgirls Killerl
Catering and Pangea Organics.
The Gala organizers are now soliciting donations for the silent auction. If you wish to make a silent auction donation, please register at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NEFMsilentauction. Or ask your friendly Northeast Farmers Market rep for a Harvest Gala Donation Agreement Form. All donations submitted by October 8 will be promoted on the NE Farmers Market website. Each contributing donor will receive one free admission to the Gala.
Admission to the Gala is $15 in advance, and $20 at the door. For an additional $5, get a pair of NEFM signature oven mitts. Advance tickets are available on Saturdays at the Northeast Farmers Market, and on-line at NEFMHarvestGala.eventbrite.com
